Chanel Launches an Art Magazine

25.06.2025

In the age of digital noise, Chanel chooses print. As part of its Chanel Culture Fund initiative, the house presents Arts & Culture Magazine — 250 pages of reflections, visuals, and future-facing dialogue.

This isn’t a brand book. It’s a visual platform capturing Chanel’s place in today’s cultural landscape. The debut issue, Vol.1, is published in English and distributed through 20 handpicked bookstores worldwide — from Tokyo to London.

The cover is a statement in itself: a sculpted bust of Gabrielle Chanel wearing metallic sunglasses from the 2002 collection, shot by Roe Ethridge. Inside — shells, perfume bottles, lions, collages. Symbols that work as intuitive codes, without the need for captions.

The magazine is part of a larger move by Chanel to support print culture as a space not just for fashion, but for ideas. A printed object with both physical and conceptual weight. If this kind of gesture becomes regular, Chanel might evolve into more than a fashion house — into a cultural institution.

Things become clear, ideas are born when you start paying close attention to your surroundings — to your clients, to the culture that shapes you. We are always thinking about creation, about creativity and craft — that is our heritage, but it’s also our future,” explains Élisabeth Anglès d’Auriac, President of Chanel UK.
