HIGHLIGHTS FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK SPRING-SUMMER 2022.

CHRISTIAN DIOR

“Couture needs people, and it seemed important to me to emphasize this now,” says Maria Grazia Chiuri, who glorified handicraft in all its manifestations in the new Dior collection: from embroidery, which adorned the looks literally from head to toe (including socks and tights) to silhouettes.

SCHIAPARELLI

After dazzling Schiaparelli on the red carpet last year, Daniel Roseberry is returning the brand to a black and white palette. The expressiveness of the collection is based only on forms: it includes jackets with a very narrow waist and large hoods, corsets with cone cups, and dresses with straps that rise above the body, which seem to hang in the air.

FENDI
Strict silhouettes in the Kim Jones collection are inspired by the atmosphere of Rome, its grandeur, and its divinity. The designer came up with velvet column dresses, capes depicting antique statues, and capes in the spirit of priestly robes.

GAULTIER PARIS
Now the couture collections of Gaultier Paris are not handled by Jean-Paul himself, but by invited designers. Glenn Martens, designer at Y/Project and most recently creative director of Diesel worked on the spring-summer 2022 season. He interpreted Gautier’s hits of different years: delicate chiffon dresses and ribbon corsets.
