British director Edgar Wright presented the trailer for his horror-thriller “Last Night in Soho”, which he also wrote and produced. The author is known for his collaboration with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and the popular films “Shaun of the Dead”, “Hot Fuzz”, and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”.
Sandy, a design-enthusiastic young girl, oddly finds herself in London in the late 1960s, home to her idol singer. She gets to experience the fabulous era and meet the fashion designer she fancies. However, it later turns out that the overwhelming London life is not at all what she expected.
The characters, the neon lights, and the atmosphere of the movie may slightly remind you of “The Neon Demon”, Refn’s fashion thriller. The plot was presumably inspired by Nicolas Roeg’s mystical thriller “Don’t Look Now” and Roman Polanski’s psychological thriller “Repulsion”.
In addition to Thomasin McKenzie (“Jojo Rabbit”, “Leave No Trace”), you will also see Anya Taylor-Joy (“Queen’s Gambit”, “The New Mutants”), Matt Smith (“Doctor Who”, “The Crown”), Diana Rigg (“Game of Thrones”), and brothers James and Oliver Phelps (“Harry Potter”) in this movie.
